Typography
The following examples show our recommended way of using the TYPO3 typefaces and weights. The relationship to the TYPO3 brand is established through our typeface, "Source Sans Pro", which should be used as the only typeface.
Due to the variable nature of web and print publications, we do not assign a strict set of size and weight rules. We do however provide a recommended set of font-sizes and weights, as well as additional assets and colors for your projects. This collection includes uncompiled as well as compiled sources to kickstart your project. Feel free to adapt these to your needs: https://git-t3o.typo3.org/services/t3o-sites/typo3.org/typo3-style-guide-css-components
Please note:
In order to achieve a high degree of contrast and readability, we strongly recommend the use of descending font-sizes for headlines as well as a destinction in weight between headlines and copytext.
Fonts
TYPO3 in general uses Source Sans as its typeface for headlines, as well as different types of copy.

If sample code is to be displayed (and only in this case), the monospaced source code variant is to be used.

Headlines
These are the different types of headlines. For the different usage in print and online surroundings, a few simple rules apply. We tried to summarise and standardise them here so that we, i.e. you, can quickly achieve a good result and product :)
- Headings are a tool for the logical structuring of text sections.
- A chapter heading is larger than a section heading, etc.
- This also means, for example, that a chapter heading (or online an H1) is only used once and not to emphasise text elsewhere. Other text mark-ups can be used for this purpose. This makes the structure of a text easier for the user to grasp and use.
Heading 1
(Source Sans, bold, 42px)
Heading 2
(Source Sans, bold, 36px)
Heading 3
(Source Sans, bold, 31px)
Heading 4

Heading 5

Bodytext
and the hierarchy within
A so-called body text contains the actual content of a document or page. In order to be easily readable, it is sufficient to follow a few simple rules:
- Avoid too long and convoluted sentences.
- Use logical paragraphs to separate blocks of content.
- Divide very long texts into paragraphs, each with a subheading.
- A paragraph and a new line are different things.
- To emphasise text passages, use bold text (please refrain from using italic).
- Use lists.
